Week 2

If I were a childless couple I would want to move to a place such as downtown Tempe.  The reason for that is the fact that downtown Tempe is a very lively place where there a lot of young college kids and couples who want to party and have fun.  The gentrification theory suggests that as neighborhood which is moved into by wealthier people will turn into a better place.  I see that in downtown Tempe, there are a lot of bars and upscale restaurants that are opening up to cater to the wealthy residents.  There is also the Tempe Marketplace which was opened up and there a lot of people who shop there regularly. 

            I think a childless couple would also want the luxury of attending events such as art displays, exhibits and shows.  Downtown Tempe has easy access to downtown Phoenix via the light rail and is therefore a good place to live.  A childless couple would want people to be able to visit them and they would want to do cookouts and other activities. For this they would want a place which could accommodate theses activities.  Downtown Phoenix is too expensive and therefore there wouldn’t be much room to do all these activities.  However, Tempe is still very much affordable and would be a great place to buy a house. 

I would want to be living in a place with easy access to the outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain climbing and biking.  Downtown Tempe is close to all these things and has a lot to offer.
